Designed for the global stage, the APEC Convention Centre in Papua New Guinea showcases the scale and capability of engineered timber. Manufactured by Red Stag TimberLab in New Zealand, the structure spans over 100 metres, with sweeping curved glulam elements rising to 18 meters and forming a dramatic cantilevered canopy. Given the complexity and exposure throughout fabrication, transport and installation, protecting the timber was critical. CUTEK® wood oil was applied to stabilize moisture movement and maintain the integrity of the glulam components from factory to final assembly.
