It started with curiosity.
Our story began in New Zealand, where a grandfather and father worked together in the paint industry. While developing coatings, they discovered something different—an approach that showed remarkable potential for protecting wood.
That discovery (formerly known as CD50) became the foundation of all CUTEK® oil formulas today. What started as an idea soon became a lifelong pursuit of continually improving the technology, using advances in raw materials to adapt it to new wood species, variable climates and ever-changing construction requirements.
CUTEK® didn't set out to become a global brand. As more people experienced the technology, word spread.
Customers shared it. Professionals specified it. Distributors began asking to introduce CUTEK® into their own countries. One project became another. One country became the next.
